Artist Bio

I am an artist and social justice educator living in Portland, Oregon. I love painting with oils on large canvases to explore what it means to be embodied and in relationship with the natural world. Images and sensations that I notice when practicing yoga and meditation tend to be the creative beginnings of my paintings along with time outside, poetry and music, writing, and moments that move me as I progress through a day. As a social justice educator, I utilize narrative and stories, reflection and dialogue, and creative expression to support individuals and communities with increasing awareness about the effects of oppression and privilege on their own and other lives; emotional healing; and the nurturance of authentic relationships and community. Currently, I have the honor of facilitating a community-based capstone LGBTQ+ PDX History at Portland State University in partnership with the Gay Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest (GLAPN).
