Finding Respite in Titcomb Basin

In September 2021 I went on an 8-day backpacking trip to Titcomb Basin in the Wind River Range in Wyoming with my hubs Rob. I was feeling isolated and heavy from the pandemic and needed to be in the wilderness to both exhaust and calm my body and mind. On the third day of our trip we arrived at Titcomb Basin. At first sight I was seized the beauty of the place and I cried tears of joy, awe, and grief. I am so grateful for this place in the world, how it held me, and the respite it offered.

Recently, I finished this painting of Titcomb Basin. As well I've included several photos of a very layered process.
